Types of bio fuel fired boilers

Chain grate stoke boilers, and circulating fluidized bed boilers are available for burning various biofuels. Choose the right bio fuel boilers can help reduce your investment cost.

Chain grate type boilers were one of the first technologies to fire biomass. Still used today, they are reliable and efficient and can use a variety of fuels, including wood waste, municipal solid waste, and agricultural materials such as corn stover, straw and animal waste. The stoker can also handle sludge and combination fuels, including coal and tire-derived fuel. Chain grate type biomass boilers are usually 2 ton to 75 ton for middle and small companies.

Circulating fluidized bed boilers are taking a bigger and bigger market share, clean combustion technology and recycling combustion can realize higher efficiency and lower emission. The biofuel fired CFB boiler, power plant boiler are larger capacity compared with chain grate boiler. Improvements have been made with computer fluid dynamic modeling, improved overfire air systems, deep bed burning and emission controls. Older units have had small inefficient overfire air systems, which can result in lower efficiency, low steaming rates, poor carbon burnout, and high carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and particulate emissions. All boiler manufacturers and other suppliers now have improved combustion air systems to mitigate these issues.
